    The lens combines two ED glass elements with three aspherical elements to deliver high contrast, high resolution imaging across the entire focal range. The circular aperture design and distortion/colour aberration control at the wide and telephoto ends of the zoom range also enhance creativity, opening up a world of expressive imaging options.

  • Floating axis technology

    By utilising the same ‘floating axis’ technology found in our Handycam® range, the lens is able to achieve exceptionally smooth, quiet focus and zooming across the entire focal length. In addition, the same technology ensures that the length of the lens remains the same while focusing or zooming, enhancing ease of use.

  • Smooth, controlled zooming

    The on-lens zoom lever – similar to those found on our Handycam range – puts you in full control of your image – choose between fixed-speed power zooming, or the variable, stepless setting for enhanced control and creative freedom. The lever’s convenient location means it can be used while maintaining a firm grip on the camera body, so you won’t have to worry about motion blur affecting your images.

  • Constant F4 aperture

    With the ability to shoot at a constant F4 aperture across the entire 27mm to 157.5mm focal length, you’ll be able to get closer to the action without sacrificing detail. At full zoom, you’ll be able to lower your ISO setting and increase your shutter speed for crisp, no-noise shots.

  • SteadyShot image stabilisation

    Built-in SteadyShot technology keeps your image stable even when your hands aren’t. By compensating for the minor hand motions that can cause blurring and distortion, SteadyShot ensures brilliant photographic results – even in challenging low-light conditions. Switch to SteadyShot Active mode for sharp, blur-free movie shooting.
