The 18-300mm F / 3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD covers a large focal length range from around 27mm to 450mm (35 mm Equivalent). It is the worldwide first1 zoom lens with 16.6x magnification for mirrorless APS-C cameras and offers all the advantages of all-in-one zoom lenses, which are suitable for a wide range of photographic applications. The carefully balanced optical system includes several special glasses that enable 16.6x magnification with the highest image quality. The resolution from the optical centre to the edge of the image remains consistently high over the entire focal length range. As with Tamron's other lenses for mirrorless system cameras, the fi lter diameter is 67 mm.

Fascinating close-ups with a maximum reproduction scale of 1:2

With a close-up distance of only 0.15m at an 18mm focal length and a maximum image ratio of 1: 2, the 18-300mm F3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD has impressively good close-up skills compared to other all-in-one zoom lenses.

Best-in-class AF with VXD technology

The autofocus system of the 18-300mm F / 3.5-6.3 VC VXD is based on the VXD linear motor technology developed by Tamron, which focuses on the motif quickly and precisely. Even with the 300mm telephoto position, the focus changes from the minimum setting distance to infi nity within a very short time. As autofocus works almost silently, the lens is also ideal for photo and video recordings in situations where absolute silence is required.

A zoom that is suitable for a variety of motifs and purposes

Whether extensive landscape panoramas or fascinating architectural details - the 18-300mm corresponds to a 35mm focal length of 27-450mm and leaves nothing to be desired. This focal length range is also ideal for portraits and close-ups.

VC image stabilizer for sharp images

The lens has Tamron's VC image stabilization, which compensates for unwanted camera movements in poor lighting conditions, such as indoors or after sunset. In addition, it is equipped with artificial intelligence that automatically selects the optimal VC setting for video recordings with focal lengths of up to 70mm.

Zoom Lock (ZL) Mechanism

The ZL mechanism prevents unwanted extension of the tube during transport. The lock, which is activated by a switch, protects the lens from damage and at the same time guarantees that it is quickly ready for use.

Internal Focusing (IF) System

Internal focusing prevents the barrel from extending and rotating during focusing. The lens is easier to handle and is suitable for use with polarising or gradation filters.

Aspherical Lens (ASL)

Aspherical lenses correct spherical aberrations (focus errors) in zoom lenses. They can replace several other optical elements without loss of quality, contributing to a more compact lens design.

Low Dispersion (LD) Elements

LD elements have particularly low colour dispersion index. They reduce chromatic aberrations that appear as colour fringes on the contrast edges and reduce image sharpness.

Moisture Resistant (MR) Construction

The lens is splash-resistant. All critical areas have special seals. Lenses with this feature are ideal for outdoor use in bad weather.

Fluorine Coating (FLR)

Fluorine Coating protects the front lens from contamination. It prevents oil and water droplets from sticking to the surface. Fingerprints and dirt are easier to remove.

Vibration Compensation (VC)

TAMRON-developed image stabilisation that compensates for unwanted camera movement for sharper images. Shutter speeds of up to 5 EV stops slower are possible with the VC image stabiliser.

Voice-Coil Extreme-Torque Drive (VXD)

The VXD autofocus guarantees fast and precise focusing on both near and far objects. The quiet focus motor responds at lightning speed and is particularly suitable for images of moving objects.
