The groundbreaking 50-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD (model A069) telephoto zoom lens was developed in response to user feedback that "the angle of view of the initial focal length is not optimal" when using a 70-300-mm zoom. The new A069 model therefore now offers a standard focal length of 50mm, providing much more flexibility in photography.

This compact 6x zoom lens is extremely compact with a length of only 150 mm and with a weight of only 665 g one of the lightest in its class. In addition, the precise arrangement of special lens elements (including two XLD and two LD lens elements) ensures effective aberration reduction and high image quality throughout the zoom range. TAMRON's new 50-300mm F4.5-6.3 VC zoom provides a wide 50mm starting option in response to user feedback that "the view angle is somewhat lacking at the wide end" when using a 70-300mm zoom. Although it extends to 300mm at the telephoto end, the 50-300mm F4.5-6.3 VC features an extremely compact size with a length of just 150mm (5.9in) and a class-leading light weight of 665g (23.5oz). In addition, the expert arrangement of special lens elements effectively controls aberrations and produces high image quality throughout the entire 50-300mm zoom range. The lens is equipped with the VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism that delivers excellent quietness and agile autofocus performance, while the VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization mechanism provides powerful support for every aspect of shooting.
At the 50mm wide end, the lens attains an MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.22m (8.7in) for a remarkable maximum magnification ratio of 1:2. This provides excellent close-range shooting performance that allows users to fully enjoy the world of half-macro shooting. The 67mm filter size is common to many TAMRON lenses for mirrorless cameras for greater enjoyment and convenience when carrying multiple lenses - or even just one during everyday excursions. High-speed AF with high precision and VC mechanism for stability
The autofocus is equipped with TAMRON's VXD linear motor. Thanks to this fast and high-precision autofocus system, the user can precisely adjust the focus from the closest focusing distance to infinity. In addition, the focus tracking is extremely precise. The 50-300mm F/4.5-6.3 VC is equipped with TAMRON's VC mechanism, which effectively reduces camera shake. That can appear when shooting at the telephoto range, when focusing at close range or in low light conditions.
Half-macro photography at 50mm
Outstanding performance at close range with a close MOD6 of 0.22 m and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 on the 50 mm wide-angle lens. Compatible with TAMRON Lens Utility™ software
The 50-300mm F/4.5-6.3 VC is compatible with the TAMRON Lens Utility software developed by TAMRON. It allows users to change lens settings, assign functions from the camera and update the firmware if required. In addition, the functions in the mobile version can also be operated via a smartphone app (Android OS) without touching the lens. Users can customise the functions for different photo and video shooting styles, providing a more personalised and fulfilling shooting experience.
Moisture Resistant Construction
The lens is splash-resistant. All critical areas have special seals. Lenses with this feature are ideal for outdoor use in bad weather.
Fluorine Coating
Fluorine Coating protects the front lens from contamination. It prevents oil and water droplets from sticking to the surface. Fingerprints and dirt are easier to remove.
Broad Band Anti-Reflection
The BBAR multi-coating ensures brilliant images with natural colours. It reduces the reflection of light rays hitting the lens surface. The more advanced BBAR G2 coating has been used since 2019.
Zoom Lock (ZL) Mechanism
The ZL mechanism prevents unwanted extension of the tube during transport. The lock, which is activated by a switch, protects the lens from damage and at the same time guarantees that it is quickly ready for use.
VC (Vibration Compensation)
Tamron-developed image stabilisation that compensates for unwanted camera movement for sharper images. Shutter speeds of up to 5 EV stops slower are possible with the VC image stabiliser.
