The LUMIX GH7 is a next-generation mirrorless camera that meets the needs of creators, whatever their creative field may be.

The LUMIX GH7 delivers outstanding video performance, wide dynamic range with a newly developed 25.2MP BSI CMOS sensor, and improved AF performance with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus). To support the efficient workflow required in professional production environments, the GH7 is newly equipped with Apple ProRes RAW*1 internal recording and the World’s first 32-bit float recording*2, which eliminates the need to adjust sound recording levels during shooting.

With the rapid increase in demand for video content in recent years, the number of small teams of video creators is rising, along with the demand for further improvements in the quality of mirrorless cameras with excellent video performance and portability. Since its release in 2009, our LUMIX GH series has developed a strong reputation among creators and video production teams as a model renowned for its shooting performance, innovative features and reliability.

Enhanced Content Quality

The LUMIX GH7's Phase Hybrid AF tracks subjects persistently, capturing them quickly and precisely. Its Dynamic Range Boost enables a wide dynamic range at all ISO sensitivity ranges.

Efficient Workflow

ProRes RAW HQ internal recording, 32-bit float format recording (optional DMW-XLR2 required), etc. can be performed on the camera body itself, making it possible to produce high-quality and high-efficiency content with minimal setup.

Outstanding Reliability

Combines a compact body with a heat dissipation structure, enabling extended recording even when shooting at heavy loads (4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p, ProRes RAW HQ).

ProRes RAW HQ Internal Recording

5.7K 30p ProRes RAW HQ footage can be recorded on the camera body itself, giving you the freedom to capture the moment at the click of a button with minimal setup and no need for external devices. Improved gimbal compatibility also expands the range of expressions.

World’s First 32-bit Float Recording

When combined with the DMW-XLR2 (sold separately), the LUMIX GH7 delivers the world's first 32-bit float recording,* improving the quality and efficiency of the entire workflow. With its wide dynamic range, the 32-bit float format records more information, from quiet to loud sounds, eliminating the need for tedious sound level adjustments during audio recording.

ARRI LogC3 Recording

By using DMW-SFU3A Software Upgrade Key (sold separately), users can use the ARRI LogC3*, which enables color matching with ARRI’s digital cinema cameras. The image processing of the ARRI LogC3 curve on LUMIX GH7 has been certified by ARRI for the implementation of this function. The options for Log recording, which provides rich color information and a wide dynamic range, have been expanded to include ARRI LogC3 in addition to the conventional V-Log, further improving LUMIX’s workflow compatibility.

Richer Tonal Expression

Dynamic Range Boost function acquires two types of images with a single exposure and synthesizes them in real time to create composite images with rich tonal range even in scenes with significant luminance differences. With still images, it allows for richer expression of shadow tones in RAW data. With video, it enables 13+-stop V-Log/V-Gamut recording.* It achieves a wide dynamic range in all ISO sensitivity ranges.

*When shooting video over 60fps (including VFR), latitude will be 12+ stop. ・Dynamic Range Boost is not activated when shooting HFR/VFR video of 61fps or higher, or with SH burst shooting. Also not activated at shutter speeds slower than 1/15 during still image shooting, depending on the ISO. ・This function is applied automatically.

Phase Hybrid AF

The most important thing with autofocus is to be dependable. In addition to contrast AF, the LUMIX GH7 offers the Phase Detection AF system, which dramatically improves subject tracking performance and metering technologies. The camera can capture the subject even in challenging scenes where multiple subjects are involved, delivering accuracy even in backlit or low-light environments.

Real Time LUT

LUTs can be applied to photos and videos on the camera body itself, allowing you to create photos and videos straight out of the camera. Supports ".VLT" and ".CUBE" file formats. By utilizing this feature, you can save time on the complicated post-editing process. In combination with the LUMIX Lab app, you can easily create your own LUTs and install them on the camera.

LUMIX Lab App

Pair the camera with your smartphone in three steps and transfer content seamlessly with ultra-fast Wi-Fi connection. You can also crop, adjust brightness, apply LUTs, etc., enabling simple editing for any social media platform to be done in a snap.

Unlimited 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p Video Recording

Offering 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p internal recording, the LUMIX GH7 delivers unlimited recording time* when used at the recommended operating temperature**. Ideal for small production teams and in demanding conditions where mobility and high-quality are a must. Also allows for simultaneous internal recording and external recording via HDMI output.

Wireless / Wired Live Streaming

Choose your favorite streaming approach to share your latest in real time! For outdoor use, wireless live streaming (RTMP/RTMPS) is easy to set up with the LUMIX Sync app. For indoor use, highly stable wired live streaming (RTP/RTSP) is also available.

  1. About motion picture recording

    The cards that can be used for recording vary depending on the motion pictures bit rate and format type.

    • Motion pictures with 72Mbps or less: CFexpress card, SD memory card with SD Speed Class with Class 10 or Video Speed Class 10 or higher
    • Motion pictures with 200Mbps or less: CFexpress card, SD memory card with UHS-I / UHS-II UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) or Video Speed Class 30 or higher
    • Motion pictures with 400Mbps or less: CFexpress card, SD memory card with Video Speed Class 60 or higher
    • Motion pictures with 600Mbps or less: CFexpress card, SD memory card with Video Speed Class 90
    • Motion pictures with 800Mbps or more, variable frame rate with ALL-Intra, or ProRes: CFexpress card

    A new file will be created to continue recording if the continuous recording time exceeds the following conditions.

    • Motion pictures with less than 72Mbps: 30 minutes
    • Motion pictures with 72Mbps or more: 3 hours 4 minutes

    A new file will be created to continue recording if the file size exceeds the following conditions.

    • [MP4] in [FHD]: 4GB
    • [MP4] in [4K]: 96GB

    If the resolution is higher than C4K, the frame rate is higher than 60p or set to ProRes, the camera may stop the recording to protect itself. Wait until the camera cools down.

  2. Hybrid Log Gamma is selectable in [4:2:2 10bit] or [4:2:0 10bit].
  3. High-res audio is selectable only when attaching Φ3.5mm microphone or DMW-XLR2 (sold separately).
  4. About AF
    • Automatic Detection is not available for High Frame Rate video shooting above 60p.
    • Tracking and Automatic Detection are not available when using HDMI cable or USB connection cable for High Frame Rate video shooting above 60p.
  5. To output motion pictures with 4K or higher, use a Premium High Speed HDMI cable (Type A - Type A plug).
